America for Mitt Romney - NOT

America for Mitt Romney - NOT

America NOT for Mitt Romney

Massachusetts had the THIRD (3rd) lowest job growth in the country when Mitt Romney was Governor...

Mitt Romney's business experience did not make him fit to be Governor as the people of Massachusetts clearly stated when the failed to elect him for even a second term...
Mitt Romney's business experience does not make him fit to be President either...

Mitt Romney's political resume is abysmal, he raised taxes (disguised as fees) over one half BILLION dollars...
Mitt Romney sold us out on the second amendment again and again...
Mitt Romney even just in the last few months was found to have ILLEGAL ALIENS doing his personal landscaping...
Mitt Romney and his family have a long established record of being pro-choice but now claims to be pro-life...

Mitt also has a problem telling the truth...
Recently (2007) Mitt stated that he joined his father in a march with Martin Luther King Jr... NEVER HAPPENED, Mitt was on his MORMAN Mission and out of the country...

In 2007 Mitt also stated his father marched many times with Martin Luther King Jr...
NEVER HAPPENED, George Romney NEVER NEVER marched with Martin Luther King Jr.

Over a decade ago Mitt Romney is on record as saying the same mythology...
Fact - Neither of the two Mormons Mitt Romney nor his father George Romney EVER, EVER, marched with Martin Luther King Jr...

The only thing consistent about Mitt Romney is his willingness to do or say anything to get elected to his current political office he is seeking...

Mitt Romney is a chronic flip flopper... Mitt's Record: Pro-choice, now Pro-Li...fe, anti-guns, now pro-gun varmint hunter, for taxes, now against taxes, says he's for cleaning up the "water" our kids swim in yet has no problem making a buck off selling porn in hotel rooms.
Mitt Romney flip-flopping waffle man

"I promised that if elected, I'd call a truce - a moratorium, if you will...I vowed to veto any legislation that sought to change the existing rules...I fully respect and will fully protect a woman's right to choose." - Mitt Romney

"My political philosophy is pro-life." - Mitt Romney

In 2006 Governor Romney supported the President’s immigration policy as well as the McCain-Kennedy bill. He expressed support for an immigration program that places large numbers of illegal residents on the path toward citizenship and said illegal immigrants should have a chance to obtain citizenship.

He even went as far as to say that Republicans that break from the President on this issue are making a "big mistake" according to the Associated Press.

A former advocate of gun control, Romney during his 1994 run for the US Senate backed measures the gun-rights group opposed, such as a five-day waiting period on gun sales and a ban on certain assault weapons.

"I don't line up with the NRA" to becoming a card-carrying member - Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney joined the NRA as a lifetime member in August of 2006.

“If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern,” Romney wrote. “My opponent cannot do this. I can and will.” - Mitt Romney

Romney was unmistakable in his support for gay equality in 1994 and that he would now come out in favor of laws that explicitly ban gay equality indicates one of two possibilities: that his views about the rights of gays underwent a complete and utter transformation in a four-year period or that Romney did the math and figured that he would have a better chance of winning his party’s nomination if he ran to the right of John McCain.

Mitt Romney a hypocritical second amendment supporter & new member of the NRA, signed into law as Governor a unconstitutional Assault Weapons Ban much like the federal one that sunset in 2004 and has vowed to bring it back if elected President. Moreover, he also supports the abysmal BRADY BILL...
And the hypocrite does not even personally own a gun!

The only thing we can count on Mitt Romney being consistent on is his willingness to do or say anything that will get him elected to whatever office he is running for at the time as his record clearly demonstrates...

Has anybody noticed the Reverend Mitt Romney Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) fantasy's he has been having this week about his personal watching of his father marching with MLK? A march that occurred when Mitt was out of the country and his father never participated in either...
Apparently, he was having similar delusions in 1978 when he claimed as a boy he and his father marched with Martin Luther King Jr.

Meet Slick Willard Mitt Romney...

Governor Mitt Romney, AKA "Fee Hike Mitt" or "Fee-Fee Mitt" has another name for taxes; he calls them fees...

Mitt Romney 2003: Refused to Publicly Endorse Bush Tax Cuts. "Romney refused to endorse tax cuts at the heart of President Bush's economic program in 2003. Romney's spokesperson said that it's 'just not a state matter." [Boston Globe, 4/11/03]

Mitt Romney FLIP-FLOPPING ON TAX CUTS: Romney Supports Tax Cut He Once Mocked as Cut for Fat Cats. In 1996, Mitt Romney ran ads against Steve Forbes' flat tax plan, saying he "will not support a specific proposal unless it taxes investment income." Romney's ads asserted that the Forbes plan to eliminate taxes on dividends, interest and investment profit and institute a 17% tax on wages that would result in huge tax cuts for the "Kennedys, Rockefellers, and Forbes." The ad said, "It's a tax cut for fat cats." [Boston Globe, 1/21/96; Hotline On-Call, 3/28/07]

INCREASED SPENDING: Gov. Romney Increased Budgets Each Year. The Romney Administration proposed four budgets while in office: covering fiscal years 2004-2007. Each budget increased spending over the previous year. The Administration's FY 04 budget called for $23.270 billion in funding. The Administration's FY 05 budget called for $24.514 billion in funding. The Administration's FY 06 budget called for $25.097 billion in funding. And the Administration's FY 07 budget called for $26.882 billion in funding. [Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, 6/23/03, 6/704, 6/10/05, 6/22/06]

LOST JOBS: Massachusetts Lost 10,000 Jobs During Romney Administration Watch. Romney oversaw a net decrease of more than 10,000 jobs in Massachusetts. [Boston Herald, 2/21/07]

HIGHER PROPERTY TAXES: Romney Forced Hike in Local Commercial Property Taxes; Property Taxes Rose to Highest Level in 25 Years. According to Associated Industries of Massachusetts, the state's largest business group, Romney signed a measure that allowed local officials to raise the commercial property tax rate, which cost business owners $100 million. Romney's cuts to local aid forced Massachusetts property taxes to their highest level in 25 years. RAISING FEES: Earned Nickname "Fee-Fee" For Raising Taxes and Fees. [Associated Press, 8/28/07] Boston Globe reported, "A survey of states grappling with spending crises has found that Massachusetts imposed more fee hikes than any other state in the nation this year -- at least $500 million…The study by the National Conference of State Legislatures found that Massachusetts was one of 30 states that enacted fee increases this year…Of the 30 states to raise fees, only nine [brought] in $100 million or more from those fee hikes. Massachusetts reported $501.5 million in fee hikes." [Boston Globe, 7/24/03]

WEAK ECONOMY: Economic Performance During Romney's Tenure as Mass Governor Was "One of the Worst in the Country." According to economists at Northeastern University, an analysis of the Massachusetts economy "reveals a weak comparative economic performance of the state over the Romney years, one of the worst in the country." [Boston Globe, 7/28/07]

October 11th, 2007:
Washington, DC - Just days after misrepresenting and exaggerating his economic record during this week's CNBC Republican presidential debate, Mitt Romney is taking his relentless campaign to distract from his failed leadership to Oklahoma City and Phoenix. While Romney thinks his flip-flops and smooth talk can convince Republican primary voters to ignore his past, the Associated Press yesterday revealed the real Romney. As governor, not only did Romney repeatedly fail to pass an income tax cut plan, but he actually pushed through $500 million in fee hikes and raised corporate taxes. [AP, 10/10/07].

In fact, on the whole, Romney's mismanagement of the Massachusetts economy prompted economists to declare the state's performance "one of the worst in the country." On his watch, Massachusetts lost 10,000 jobs, the state's budget increased every year he was in office, property taxes rose to their highest level in 25 years, and he raised so many fees on Massachusetts taxpayers that he earned a nickname in his home state: "Fee-Fee." Now, on the campaign trail, Romney is working to distance himself from that record by flip-flopping on a capital gains tax he once mocked as a tax cut for "fat cats" and calling for the extension of President Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy--even though he refused to endorse them in 2003.

"Smooth talking Mitt Romney can't flip-flop and pander his way out of the fact that his economic record as Massachusetts governor was nearly as dreadful as the President he hopes to replace," said Democratic National Committee spokesman Damien LaVera. "The American people want their next President to offer real solutions on critical issues like health care and the economy, but all Romney has to offer is four more years of President Bush's failed leadership."

Mitt Romney’s Record on Gun Rights:
Political Opportunism, Pandering and Flip-Flopping

1994: Romney says he doesn’t line up with the NRA: “At another campaign stop that year, he told reporters: ‘I don’t line up with the NRA.’” (Scott Helman, “Romney retreats on gun control,” Boston Globe, 1/14/07)

1994: Romney favored waiting periods on gun sales: “A former advocate of gun control, Romney during his 1994 run for the U.S. Senate backed measures the gun-rights group opposed, such as a five-day waiting period on gun sales and a ban on certain assault weapons.” (David Abel, “Romney joined NRA in August, was advocate of gun control,” Boston Globe, 2/19/07)

1994: Romney favored assault weapons ban: “He [Romney] is a supporter of the federal assault weapons ban.” (Romney Campaign Website, 2002)

2002: Romney says he favors tough gun laws: “And as the GOP gubernatorial candidate in 2002, Romney lauded the state’s strong laws during a debate against Democrat Shannon O’Brien. ‘We do have tough gun laws in Massachusetts; I support them,’ he said. ‘I won’t chip away at them; I believe they protect us and provide for our safety.’” (Scott Helman, “Romney retreats on gun control,” Boston Globe, 1/14/07)

August 2006: At age 59, and six months before announcing for President, Romney becomes a member of the NRA: “Speaking on ABC’s ‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos,’ Romney said he signed up for a lifelong membership ‘within the last year.’” (David Abel, “Romney joined NRA in August, was advocate of gun control,” Boston Globe, 2/19/07)

February 2007: Romney says the NRA is doing good things: “‘I think they’re doing good things, and I believe in supporting the right to bear arms,’ Romney said.” (David Abel, “Romney joined NRA in August, was advocate of gun control,” Boston Globe, 2/19/07)

April 2007: Romney says he’s been a hunter all his life: “I’ve been a hunter pretty much all my life.” (”Romney, self-described lifelong hunter, has hunted twice,” Associated Press, 4/4/07)

April 2007: Romney campaign says Romney only hunted twice: “Questions about his hunting activities trailed Romney this past week after he remarked at a campaign stop that he has been a hunter nearly all his life. The next day, his campaign said Romney had gone hunting just twice — once as a teenager in Idaho and last year with GOP donors in Georgia.” (Glen Johnson, “Romney clarifies reports on hunting,” Associated Press, 4/7/07)

April 2007: “Lifelong hunter” Romney never took out a hunting license: “Officials in the four states where Mitt Romney has lived say the Republican presidential contender, who calls himself a lifelong hunter, never took out a license.” (Glen Johnson, “Romney clarifies reports on hunting,” Associated Press, 4/7/07)

Mitt Romney’s record on gun rights and the Second Amendment (like the rest of his record) is consistent in one thing: pandering and political posturing. He has opposed and supported the NRA as the political climate dictated.
